Education stressed at Committee of 100 banquet
YOUNGSVILLE — Members of Franklin County’s Committee of 100 are optimistic that the area’s economy is poised for a turnaround.

Time for Louisburg to start properly maintaining its streets
GOOD MORNING: Add another 5.5 inches of rainfall to the 3.8 inches we received a few days earlier this week and you’ll come close to erasing our September rainfall deficit.
I’ll be frank with you, however, although I was aware that we had probably received quite a bit of rain during the night Wednesday, I was totally unprepared for the sight that greeted me when I drove down to the mailbox to get the morning paper shortly after 5 a.m. Thursday and found the bottom on both sides of my driveway under water - a sight I haven’t seen in a long time.
