LOUISBURG – Juanita Davis Tharrington, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Jared Pemper officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

Our dear Mother and best friend, Laura Elizabeth Treat Mattingly, passed away on Tuesday, December 3rd, 6 days shy of her 92nd birthday.  We cherish her memory and are grateful for the many years we spent with her.  We hope she is now with our deceased father, Rex, who passed away on Feburary 27, 2004.

LESLIE G. BULLARD
Leslie G. Bullard, 89, of Blairsville, GA, formerly of Warne, NC, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 in a Clay County care center.  He was a native of Wake County, NC, but had lived in Louisburg, NC for 19 years and later moved to Clay County, NC for 18 years. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Army. Leslie worked in the lumber industry for most of his life. He was a member of the Hayesville, NC First United Methodist Church.
