Breaking News: $432,500 award from troopers

RALEIGH -- Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, a jury determined that two troopers owed former cadet and current sheriff's deputy Jennifer Martin $432,500 in damages for their role in actions that led to a debilitating hip injury.
The jury, though, could not come to an agreement on whether Trooper Susan Moreau was liable for any punitive damages.
They did decide that Trooper Gregory Gentieu was not liable for any punitive damages.

LOUISBURG - Alexander Bell Jr., 89, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016.  Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Cedar Rock Baptist Church in Castalia. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

BROOKLYN, N.Y.--Funeral services for James Otis Yarborough, 74, of Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of Louisburg, who died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg, with the Rev. Jimmie Hodge and Dr. Mary Burch officiating. Burial will follow in the Haywood Baptist Church cemetery.

CLINTON, Miss. - Funeral services for Otha Lee "Grip" Grissom, 62, of Clinton, Miss., formerly of Louisburg, who died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, will be held Tuesday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg, with the Rev. Cullus Dunston officiating. Burial will follow in the Cemetery on the Hill.
