ZEBULON - Raymond Bennett “Ray” Hignutt Jr., 62, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009. Visitation will be from 1:15 to 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 5) at Pilot Baptist Church, Pilot, with the service to follow at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Chester, Pa., son of the late Raymond and Ernestine “Tina” Pippin Hignutt. He served four years in the U.S. Army and many years in the National Guard. He worked for Itron for more than 25 years.
Surviving: wife, Mary Warrick Hignutt of the home; daughter, Vicki Ledford (Michael) of Wendell; son, Matt Hignutt (Ann) of Raleigh; sisters, Ginger Griffin (Tom) of Boothwyn, Pa., and Joyce Paoli of Wendell; and three grandchildren.
Flowers or memorials to the American Cancer Society are welcome.
The family will be at the home of Vicki Ledford, 9 Ledford Lane, Wendell.
Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Wendell.
