DONALD RAY RICHARDSON
RANDLEMAN - Donald Ray Richardson, age 76, of 415 W. Noble St., Louisburg, died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at his home.

Mr. Richardson was a native of Randleman and was of Methodist faith. He attended Pilgrim Bible College in Kernersville for 2 years and was a graduate of Guilford College, majoring in English. He received his Masters Degree in English from Peabody College in Tennessee, Masters Degree in Library Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and attended Oxford University for a summer as an intern. Donald was formerly employed as an Instructor in English at Pilgrim Bible College and in a high school in Annapolis, Maryland. He was a former Assistant Librarian at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, a former Librarian at Louisburg College, and was the Librarian of the Hyde County School District. Donald retired as a professor from Hannam University in Taejon, South Korea after 15 years of service. He served as a missionary in South Korea for 15 years.

He is survived by his adopted son, Kyu-Deug Hwang (Duke Hwang) and his wife, Jean of South Korea; grandchildren, Daniella, David and Esther; brothers, James Richardson of Randleman, NC, Paul Richardson and his wife, Swannie of Randleman, NC; nephew, Robert Richardson of Asheboro, NC; nieces, Gloria Yarbrough of Maryland, Sandra Richardson of Archdale, NC and Terri Garner of Asheboro, NC.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 10:00-11:00 AM at First Wesleyan Church, 125 Tabernacle St., Randleman, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Don Hurlburt, the Rev. Alvin Newcomb and the Rev. Troy Wilheim officiating.
