LAVINIA P. ALLEN
KNIGHTDALE - Lavinia Perry “Deenie” Allen, 88, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006 at Wellington Nursing Center. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 15, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel, Knightdale. Burial followed in Raleigh Memorial Park.

Mrs. Allen was born in Franklin County to the late Wiley Jefferson Perry and Iva Elizabeth Williams. She retired from the N.C. Department of Agriculture.

Surviving: stepchildren, Larayne Tague Mears of Portland, Maine, Donald Allen of Washington, D.C., Thomas Allen of Franklinton; several nieces and nephews; and five step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, W. J. Perry, Sidney P. Perry, Ballard Perry and Joseph Allen Perry; sisters, Lillian P. Bullock, Grace P. Gay, and Pat P. Williams.

Family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary’s Street, Fourth Floor, Raleigh, NC 27605, or to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
