YOUNGSVILLE- Emmett Roy Floyd, 68, died Saturday Nov. 13, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon Nov. 16, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Smith officiating. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Cleveland County, son of the late Mary Mode Floyd and James Reid Floyd. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been employed in the construction business for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Buster, and a sister, Jane.
Surviving: wife, Jean Jones Floyd; daughter, Tracy Lynn Smith (Chris) of Rockingham; sister, Sue Jones of Hickory; and a brother, Earl Floyd of Knightdale; and three grandchildren.
