EMMA JEAN SHELTON
GREENEVILLE, TN - Emma Jean Shelton, age 79, of E. Rollins Street, Greeneville, TN, died late Friday evening, (November 12, 2010) at WakeMed Hospital, Raleigh, NC.

She was a homemaker and attended Flag Branch Church of God as long as her health permitted.

She was a very loving and caring mother and devoted wife to the late Garland Shelton, her husband of 43 years, who died in 1998.

Survivors include three children and spouses: Jerry Shelton of Afton, TN, Tammy and Randy Turner of Callahan, FL, and Donna and Gary Cunard of Louisburg, NC; five grandchildren: Corey, Chelsea, Andrew, and Matthew Turner, and Nicholas Cunard; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Margaret Waddell of Greeneville and Joyce and Howard Hicks of Virginia; one brother and sister-in-law: Ray and Annette Davis of Limestone, TN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Betty Davis, Frances Shelton, Betty Shelton, Scott Shelton, Kathy Fortner, Atlas and Paul Carter, Gene and Olan Rice, Billie and Max Williams, and Ruby Shelton; several nieces and nephews; special caregivers: Patsy Fox, Phyllis Hensley, Shelba Jones, Patricia Meyer, and Jennifer Grice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Shelton; parents: William Brownlow and Manilla Davis; three brothers: Paul Davis, Billy Davis, and Wayne Davis; three sisters: Eva Ruth Crum, Thelma Ward, and her twin sister, Earnestine Douthat.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p. m. Wednesday in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel.  The Rev. Lynn Mercer will officiate.  Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for the 11 a.m. committal service.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p. m. Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home, Greeneville.

Pallbearers will be Larry Crum, Paul Davis, Steve Waddell, Bill Hicks, Dennis Davis, and Craig Davis.
