LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Hugh Arthur Alston, 82, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, will be held at 2 p.m. today (Saturday, Jan. 8) at Cedar Rock Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, Daphine Spencer of Edison, N.J., Joyce Alston of Louisburg, Betty Jones of Greensboro and Christine Green of Perth Amboy, N. J.; sons, Walter Junior Alston, Robert Earl Alston and Bobby Alston, all of Louisburg, James A. Alston of Raleigh, Michael Collins of Las Vegas, Nev., and Christopher Green of Perth Amboy, N.J.; sisters, Mattie Strickland, Emma Jean Bullock and Edna Edgerton, all of Louisburg, and Christine Stokes of Baltimore, Md.; Columbus Alston of Louisburg, Phillip Alston of Perth Amboy, N.J. and Willie Alston of Chesapeake, Va.; 23 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
