MARTHA S. CURRIN
HENDERSON - Martha Stanley Currin, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at her home. A private burial will be held in Elmwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, Jan. 15) at West End Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ralph McGowan.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Cecil Stanley and Jacksie Ross Stanley. She was a homemaker and a member of West End Baptist Church and the Open Door Sunday School Class.

Surviving: husband, Perry Williams Currin; daughters, Carol Currin Weaver and Patsy Currin Pegram, both of Henderson; sons, Dennis Perry Currin of Oxford, J. Stuart Currin of Henderson, and Steven Williams Currin of Henderson; sisters, Ruth S. Dereby of Henderson and Polly S. Fuller of Louisburg; brothers, Pete Stanley of Oxford and Jack Stanley of Louisburg; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Cecil Currin.

The family will receive friends at the home, 138 Hester Drive, Henderson.

Flowers are omitted. Memorials may be made to the Vance County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 914, Henderson, NC 27536, or to The Governor Morehead School for the Blind, 301 Ashe Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27606.

Arrangements are by Flowers Funeral Home.
