GEORGE D. AYSCUE
TIFTON, Ga. - George Dickie Ayscue, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 11, in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors in Tifton, Ga., with the Rev. Terrell Roberts and the Rev. Chris Shoemaker officiating. Ron Evans gave the eulogy. Burial followed in Oakridge Cemetery, Tifton, Ga.

Born in the Rocky Ford Community of Franklin County to the late Nathaniel Henry Ayscue and Lillie Bessie Harris Ayscue, Mr. Ayscue was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. He was retired from Tifton Aluminum Company and was a tool and die maker by trade.

Surviving: his wife, Marie Hayes Ayscue; a son, Richard Gerald “Gerry” Ayscue (Susan) of Tifton, Ga.; one sister, Mary Evelyn Ayscue Rupp of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; brother, Lee Johnson Ayscue of Alvin, Texas; and three grandchildren.

THE REV. SAMUEL BURT

LOUISBURG - Funeral services for the Rev. Samuel Burt, 80, who died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, will be conducted at 1 p.m. today (Saturday, Jan. 13) at Perry’s Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Thomas Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Burt family cemetery.

Surviving: daughter, Ida Yarborough of Louisburg; sister, Goldie Rogers of Rocky Mount; brother, Charlie Hill of Spring Valley, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Wake services will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday at Perry’s Missionary Baptist Church.
