RICKY LEON “SKIPPER” BASS
HENDERSON - Ricky Leon “Skipper” Bass, 54,  died May 27, 2013. He was born Dec. 20, 1958 to the late Deacon Donald Bass and Deaconess Helen Lucille Bass of Franklinton.

He was a graduate of Franklinton High School. Following graduation, he entered the US Air Force and served four years at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK.

He was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Youngsville, a member of all three church choirs and a Sunday school teacher.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald (Peter) Bass, McArthur Yarbough, Jimmy Bass and Larry Bass; a sister, Lorraine B. Jones.

Surviving: wife, Sharon Bass of the home; daughters, Lakesha Bass of Oklahoma City, OK. Markeeta Bass of Roseville, Roshena Bass of Henderson; brother, Willie Lee Bass (Linda) of Butner; sisters, Brenda B. Crump of Raleigh and JoAnn B. Watson of Franklinton; two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be observed Saturday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Youngsville, with Rev. Samuel Tunstall officiating.
