VIVIAN “APPLE” P. DICKERSON
HENDERSON – Vivian “Apple” Pergerson Dickerson, 83, formerly of Louisburg and Durham, died Monday, July 29, 2013 at home. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Rouse officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior the service.

She was born in Franklin County to the late Henry Clay and Eartie Roberson Pergerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Cotton” Linwood Dickerson, Sr.; sisters, Frances P. Butler and Lillian P. Lane; brothers, Henry, James, Russell, Alfred, and Doug Pergerson; and one grandson.

Surviving: son, Charles L. (Tonya) Dickerson, Jr. of Augusta, Ga.;  daughters, Paula D. (Dale) Brown of Henderson; Beth D. (Tom) Van Arsdale of Lakeview; sister, Carolyn Harmon of Mechanicsville, Va.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
