SCARLETT COTTRELL
LOUISBURG - Scarlett May Cottrell, 53, of Louisburg, died Friday, August 2, 2013, at her home.  Born in Nash County on May 11, 1960 to the late Mickey Rogers and Anne Gupton May.  Scarlett worked at the Franklin County Health Department for many years, she owned and operated Cola Café in Louisburg from 2001 until 2004 and she was the manager of Ribeye’s Steak House in Louisburg until her health failed in 2012.  Scarlett was dearly loved by her family, she has never met a stranger and she touched everyone she came in contact with. 

Funeral services were held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Sandy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Talley and the Rev. David Huggins officiating.  Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Donald “Wayne” Cottrell, Sr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Scottie Zimmerle of Leland, NC; her son, Dwayne Cottrell and his girlfriend Ashley of Louisburg; two grandchildren, Micah and Mayci Zimmerle; and her special angels, Linda Cottrell, Dawn Davis, Robbie Hunt, Gina Wrenn and Shirley Williams.

The family received friends at Scarlett and Wayne’s home, 2347 Hwy 39 N., Louisburg at all times. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wake County Hospice, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC  27607.
