SADIE S. BURNETTE
February 12, 1925 – August 6, 2013
LOUISBURG – Sadie Stone Burnette, 88, of Louisburg, formerly of Raleigh who left us peacefully on August 6, 2013, is now in the care of our Lord.  Sadie was the daughter of the late Charlie Fisher Stone and Sally Hayes Stone.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Burnette; sisters, Rachel Taylor, Alma Gaskill, Martha Vaughan, Fannie Jane Stone and Gertie Ayscue; and a brother, Ransom Stone.

Sadie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sharon Burnette of Benson; grandchildren, Millie B. Wilson and husband Harry of Wilsons Mills and Katherine Gray Burnette of Benson; sister, Nellie Freeman of Louisburg; brothers, Dr. Raymond Stone and wife, Rachel of Kittrell, Dr. Paul Stone of Fuquay-Varina and Jack Stone of Louisburg; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sadie was employed for over 20 years with Sears in Raleigh and also was employed with Thalhiemers and Boylan Pearce in Raleigh.  She was a volunteer at Novant Health at Franklin Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Raleigh for over 40 years where she was a Primary Sunday School teacher, faithful choir member and a WMU member.  She was currently a member of the Louisburg Baptist Church where she was a choir member, WMU member and a past deacon.  She loved her family and friends very much.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 9, at Louisburg Baptist Church with Dr. Reggie Rushing and the Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 pm Friday at Raleigh Memorial Park.  Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church, PO Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends following the church service and other times at the home of Sadie Burnette, 109 Edgewood Drive, Louisburg.
