KATIE LAINE DENTON SHEARIN

MACON — Katie Laine Denton Shearin, 96, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Duke University Medical Center.

She was a Franklin County, N.C. native born to the late John B. and Flonnie Radford Denton, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Reubin I. Shearin.

Mrs. Shearin was a longtime member of Macon Baptist Church, was retired from Carolina Sportswear and was a loving homemaker that loved cooking for others.

Rev. Rob Evans will conduct funeral services at 12 noon on Friday, Oct. 25, at Macon Baptist Church with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn S. Beddingfield and husband, J.W., of Macon, and Edith S. Shearin and her husband, H.B., of Louisburg; two sisters, Mary Gupton of Louisburg and Dora Roble of Pennsylvania; her brother, J.B. Denton of Louisburg; her four grandchildren, Dean Shearin and his wife, Sandra, of Louisburg, Henry Shearin of Louisburg, April Beddingfield of Apex, and Kari Neal and husband, Ronald, of Henderson; and her eight great grandchildren, Branden Shearin, Dustin Shearin, Noah Shearin, Landon Shearin, Kailyn Overby, Kara Overby, Laniey Neal and John Neal.

Pallbearers will be Roy Pat Robertson, Franklin Rivers, Rob Rideout, Ronnie Riggan, Kent Gupton and Jon Shearin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Hilliard and M.C. Clary.

Memorials may be made to the Macon Baptist Church, 159 Church Street, Macon, N.C. 27551, or to the Greenwood Cemetery Fund, c/o Judy Leonard, 284 Oakville Road, Macon N.C., 27551.

The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Friday from 11 a.m.-12 noon at Macon Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by Blaylock Funeral Home in Warrenton and online condolences may be made at www.blaylockfh.com.
