“BUTCH” C. B. HARRIS, JR.
September 26, 1945 – February 24, 2014
SPRING HOPE – Charles “Butch” Benson Harris, Jr., 68, of Spring Hope, died Monday at his home.

Butch was a son of the late Charles and Cescile Turner Harris. He was a member of Duke Memorial Baptist Church and a retired Nash, Rocky Mount school teacher where he influenced the lives of thousands of students over his 30-year teaching career.

 A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Duke Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Butch is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Beverly W. Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Chad Ray of Bunn; son and daughter-in-law, Sandy and Kristy Harris of Wetumpka, AL; grandsons, Ethan and Eli Harris; sisters and brother-in-law, Melody Harris and Lisa and John Byrd, all of Spring Hope; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Dene Harris of Zebulon; aunts and uncle, Genora Greene of Spring Hope; Julian and Marie Harris of Raleigh; many nieces, nephews and cousins.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duke Memorial Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3976 NC Hwy. 581, Spring Hope, NC 27882.
