HARVEY RAY STROTHER JR.

KNIGHTDALE - Harvey Ray Strother Jr., 78, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Wake Med. Memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Green Pines Baptist Church, 1498 Hodge Road, Knightdale. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service in the church foyer.

He was born in Franklin County to the late Harvey Ray Strother Sr. and Minnie Vick Conyers. He retired as a data processing manager with the NC Department of Motor Vehicles with 32 years of service. He was a member of Green Pines Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and a deacon.

Surviving: wife, Ava Kearney Strother; daughter, Donna Strother of Zebulon; brother, Robert Henry Strother (Joyce) of Louisburg; sister, Joyce Strother Peoples of Louisburg; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty S. Fuller.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made in Harvey’s memory to Green Pines Baptist Church.
