ELSIE D. HORTON
January 30, 1921 – June 3, 2014

LOUISBURG – Elsie Daniels Horton, 93, of Louisburg, died Tuesday morning at her home.

Elsie was a daughter of the late Lee and Tamsey Hill Daniels. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, J.E. Horton; stepson, Sammy Horton; sisters, Martha D. Ricks and Guelda D. Raeburn; brother, Laurice Daniels.

Elsie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She played the piano in church for over twenty-five years.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Poplar Spring Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private burial will be at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Elsie is survived by her daughter, Janet Kimbrough of Louisburg; son, Bruce Babbitt of Davis; grandchildren, Scott Kimbrough and wife, Carie; Jason Kimbrough and wife, Leca; Jeannie Owens and husband, Joey; Cindy Johnson; Tommy Hill and wife, Lorie; Warren Hill; 8 great-grandchildren;

Nieces, Emily Daniels-McLear of Atlanta, GA; Barbara Hernandez of Seattle, WA; nephews, Steve Raeburn of Morehead City; Fred Raeburn of New York; former daughter-in-law, Nancy Babbitt of Beaufort.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Poplar Spring Baptist Church, Building Fund, 89 Brantleytown Rd., Zebulon, NC 27597.
