FLORINA M. EDWARDS

LEXINGTON, NC - Florina McGuire Edwards, age 79, of East Old Highway 64, Lexington passed away Sunday night (March 22, 2015) at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Max Shoaf officiating. Entombment followed at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family received friends from 12:30 until 1:45 pm prior to the service.

Florina was born in Wilkes County, December 23, 1935 to Thomas and Jonsie Ethel Cardwell McGuire. She retired with 22 years of service to Binnings Building Products and was a member of Psalm 91 Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Edward Ball; sister, Stella Mae Goforth; brothers, Judge Arlie Cardwell, Wade and Thomas McGuire.

Surviving are her husband, Woodrow Edwards of the home; daughters, Sheila Ball Currin (Andy) of Zebulon, Terry Ball Wright (Ronnie) of Franklinton and Kimberly Edwards McDowell (Johnny) of Lexington; grandchildren, Anthony Wright of Youngsville and Shea Farabee of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Chase Wright; sister, Pansy Hunt of Louisburg; brothers, E. Ray Cardwell (Faye) of Louisburg, Rufus McGuire (Mildred) of Mulberry, Billy McGuire (Edna) of Millers Creek and June Clifton "J.C." McGuire (Joan) of Wilkesboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Psalm 91 Church, 930 Michael Road, Lexington, NC 27295 or Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
