MARCUS G. HENDERSON

CREEDMOOR--Marcus Grant Henderson, 90, a longtime resident of Granville County, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham after a lengthy illness.

A native of Bessemer City, he was the son of the late Walter Hamilton and Evelyn Williams Henderson. He retired as a salesman from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 15, at Banks United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mark Gustafson. Burial followed the service at Carolina Memorial Gardens, with a reception following in the church fellowship hall.

Surviving: his wife, Joyce Y. Henderson; daughters, Janice Welch of Cypress, Texas, Lynn Smeltz of Franklinton, Ginny Moore of Bunn; sons, Walter Steve Henderson of Franklinton and Marcus Scott Henderson of Kershaw, S.C.; two granddaughters, five grandsons, four great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.
