MARIE J. LEONARD, October 24, 1925 – December 10, 2007
WENDELL - Minnie Marie Jones Leonard, 82, of Wendell, died peacefully Monday evening in Rex Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Atkin Jones; brothers, W. H. Smith and Thomas Smith; and her sisters, Edna Mason and Mildred Beckham. She attended Louisburg College and was a member of Cedar Rock First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Gail Jones Scoggins and husband, Douglas, of Blowing Rock, NC, Linda Jones Walraed and husband, Don, of Raleigh; stepson, Atkin Jones of Louisburg; two sisters, Dorothy Robinson and husband, Bob, Helen Rivenbark and husband, Jack of Rocky Mount; brother, Wallace Smith and wife, Jean, of Gainesboro, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.
