WALTER T. SINGLETON
LOUISBURG - Walter Thurman Singleton, 67, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Goldsboro with military honors.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter D. Singleton; two wives, Anna Bell Glen Singleton and Lammerdiena Nout Singleton; and a granddaughter.

Surviving: wife, Maxine Jean Singleton of Louisburg; mother, Rena Lanier Singleton of New Bern; daughters, Zanna Singleton Lambie (Bill) of New Zealand, Debbie Singleton Davis (Jack) of Mogadore, Ohio, Dottie Singleton Taylor (Chris) of Zebulon; sons, Walter Thurman Singleton Jr. (Robyn) of Chesterfield, Va., and George Arthur Singleton (Joan) of Chester, Va.; sisters, Dorothy Mills (Fred) of New Bern and Sarah Strickland (Lee) of Charleston, S.C.; brothers, Leslie Singleton (Gail) of Princeton, Linwood Singleton (Lynda) of Pine Level and Durwood Singleton (Caty) of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Flowers welcome or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11 Boylan Ave., Raleigh, NC 27803.
