FRANKLINTON - Matthew A. Person Jr., 86, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at Britthaven of Louisburg. Funeral services were Thursday, Nov. 6, at First United Church of Christ in Franklinton. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Franklinton.
He was a graduate of Albion Academy in Franklinton and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge.
Surviving: wife, Christine, of the home; daughter, Diane (James Edward) of Franklinton; sisters, Hattie P. Hall, Annie P. Smith of Franklinton and Ethel P. Strickland of Wake Forest; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
