LILLIAN P. STRICKLAND MOODY
August 3, 1919 – February 15, 2009
LOUISBURG – Lillian P. Strickland Moody, 89 of Louisburg died Sunday night at Franklin Regional Medical Center. She will be remembered for all her love for family and friends but above all her strong faith in the Lord and dedication to her church. She was a longtime member of Rock Spring Baptist Church. She also worked at Westinghouse Meter Division in Raleigh where she retired with 25 years of service.

She was born in Wake County to the late Julius Cleveland Pearce and Amie Medlin Pearce.

Funeral will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Spring Baptist Church, Louisburg, and visitation will follow the service. Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Rock Spring Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisburg.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sidney Oliver Strickland of 44 years and Robert C. Moody of 8 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Pattie Wrenn and Dorothy Parrish, and brother, J.C. Pearce.

She is survived by sons, Jimmy Strickland and Tim Strickland; daughters, Peggy Wood (Darrell), Swannie Harris (Ricky), all of Louisburg; grandchildren, Steve Wood, Mike Strickland (Angie), Kelly H. Williams (Graham), Brad Strickland (fiancée Brittany Wood) and Brandon Strickland; great-grandchildren, Haley Williams, Lillie Grace Strickland, Macy Strickland and Jackson Williams; sister, Colleen “Pete” Stallings; brother, Dan C. Pearce of Louisburg.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Rock Spring Baptist Church, 34 Rock Spring Church Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg.
