HAROLD W. SMITH SR.
SPRINGFIELD, Ga. - Harold Winston Smith Sr., 73, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 at his residence.

Graveside services were Saturday, Feb. 14, in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

He was a native of Franklin County, but lived in Springfield for a number years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy H. and Mozelle L. Smith; his brother, Phillip; and two daughters, Mary and Christina.

Surviving: wife, Lona Saxon Smith of Springfield, Ga.; children, Harold Winston Smith Jr. (Gail) of Louisburg, Mike Smith of Williamston, Brenda Hawkins of Plant City, Fla., and Charlotte Kaminsky (Sam) of Bloomingdale, Ga.; brother, P. H. Smith (Mary Sue) of Edenton; sister, Jeanette S. Foster of Castalia; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
