Mrs. Melrose Alford Williams Caines, 78, passed away to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday March 1, 2009 at Hospice of High Point, NC.

Funeral services will be held at Sheraton Park Freewill Baptist Church, Sheraton Park Road, Pleasant Garden, NC at 2 PM Thursday, March 5, 2009, officiated by Pastor Henry Hughes and Pastor Rick Brooks. Graveside services will follow at Guilford Memorial Park, High Point Rd., Greensboro, NC.

Mrs. Caines was a member of Sheraton Park Baptist Freewill Church in Pleasant Garden, NC.

Born in Pilot, NC to parents Herman and Claudia Alford Williams, Mrs. Caines is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Ernest Caines of 5976 Snyder Country Road, Trinity, NC; sons: James (Tripp) Caines and wife Pamela of Greensboro, NC, Jason Caines and wife Angela of Trinity, NC; sister-in-law, Ann Williams. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Caines was a graduate of Campbell College and East Carolina College,NC. She was a member of the High Point City School system, teaching for 29 years.

The family will recieve friends from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Cumby Family Funeral Services, 206 Trindale Road, Archdale, NC.
