SPRUCE PINE - Thomas Milton Phillips died June 10, 2006.

A memorial service and family visitation will be held at 1 p.m. today (Saturday, July 15) at the Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.

Phillips was born Sept. 28, 1927, the son of the late Dr. Edward Spear Phillips Sr. and Florence Mae Silver Phillips.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey Goforth Phillips and two brothers, Edward Spear Phillips Jr. and John Samuel Phillips.

Surviving: his wife, Betty Drymon Phillips of Christiansburg, Va.; daughters, Vickie P. Ollis and husband, Jack of Lebanon, Ga., and Marcia P. Cantrell and husband, Darrell of Pilgrims Knob, Va.; sons, Michael S. Phillips and wife, Joy of Cary, Stanley G. Phillips of Wake Forest and Andrew N. Phillips and wife, Jennifer of Franklinton; sisters, Mildred McKinney of Burnsville, Mary Ella Buchanan of Fayetteville and Jean Phillips of Charlotte; brother, William Silver Phillips and wife, Gwen of Charlotte; five stepsons; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
