LOUISBURG - James Henry “Pete” Burnette, 84, died Saturday evening, March 14, 2009, at his home. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 17, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg. Burial followed at Lancaster Memorial Park.

He was a son of the late Bonnie Rix and Nobie Collins Burnette. He was a native of Franklin County and a WWII Army veteran.

Surviving: his wife, Mavis N. Burnette; daughter, Jamie Davis (Will); brother, Bonnie B. Burnette; and one grandson, all of Louisburg.
