ZEBULON - Bertha “Pete” Thomas Pearce, 83, died Saturday, July 15, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 18, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, Wendell.

A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Umstead and Mary Williams Thomas.

Surviving: sons, Stuart Pearce (Wendy) of Zebulon and Michael Pearce (Sandra) of Raleigh; daughter, Ann Baker (Bobby) of Greenville; sister, Mabel Clark of S. Boston, Va.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
