JAMES E. BAUGHER SR.


ZEBULON - James Eric Baugher Sr., formerly of Oil City, Pa., died Thursday, April 30, 2009.

He was the son of Luella Croop Baugher Oakes and Walter N. Baugher, born in Franklin, Pa. He served in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1975 and retired as a Sergeant First Class. He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He received numerous medals during his military service. After retirement from the military, he was employed with Koppers in Rouseville, Pa., for 15 years until his retirement.

Surviving: wife, Mary Jill Grasinger Baugher; sons, Mark Alan Baugher (Caron) of Fort Bragg, Matthew James Baugher (Karen) of Oil City, Pa., and Judith Ann Baugher of Corry, Pa.; sisters, Joyce Hall of Ohio and Karen Oakes Haag of Oil City, Pa.; brothers, Charles “Bud” Oakes and Ronald Oakes of North Carolina; one granddaughter and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Charles Oakes; son, James Eric Baugher Jr.; sister, Beverly J. Braden and an infant sister, Donna Mae Oakes.
