FRANKLINTON - Mary Leona Brodie, 79, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Franklin Regional Medical Center in Louisburg. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 23, at Manasseh Chapel Baptist Church, Franklinton, with the Rev. Samuel T. Tunstall officiating.

She was born in Louisburg Township to the late Charlie and Cora Brodie and lived most of her life in Franklinton. She was a member of Manasseh Chapel Baptist Church where she was a choir member, Sunday school teacher and pianist.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward, and two sisters, Thelma and Mable.

Surviving: her son, Foster Brodie; sisters, Susie Naomi Cannon of Raleigh and Mattie M. Brodie of Franklinton; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; two nephews and four nieces.
