ZEBULON - Clarence Gentry Mangum, 85, died Thursday, June 11, 2009. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, June 13) at Union Chapel Baptist Church, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Durham County, he is the son of the late George and JoAnn Darty Mangum. He spent his life as a farmer.

Surviving: special friend, Emma Faye Chalk of the home; sons, Nelson Mangum (Deborah) of Wilson, Terry Wayne Chalk (April) of Bunn Level; daughters, Vera Hunt of Franklinton, Betty Wise (Jamie) of Zebulon; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three, great-great-grandchildren.
