FRANKLINTON - Rochelle Frances Bass Hawkins, 85, died Saturday, June 27, 2009. Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 3, in the Cutchins Funeral Home chapel in Franklinton, with Joseph B. Cutchins Jr., director, officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Franklinton.

She was born in Franklinton to the late Maude Harris and Buck Bass. She attended First Calvary Baptist Church in Durham until her health declined. She was a resident of Carver Living Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Hawkins, and her three children, John, Sandra and Frances.

Surviving: three granddaughters, Tanya Hawkins-Johnson (Ontray), Nakia Hodges and Sharika Winston; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; a number of nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
