RAYMOND R. HIGHT


FRANKLINTON - Raymond Ruffin Hight, 88, died Monday, July 13, 2009 at Franklin Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at Franklinton Baptist Church by the Rev. David Averett. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton with Military and Masonic Rites.

He was the son of the late Frank Bennett and Dora Holmes Hight. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WW II. He was a former employee of Burlington Industries and was also a security guard.

Surviving: his wife, Gladys Alford Hight of the home; sons, Raymond R. Hight Jr. (Kathy) of Henderson, Gary Lynn Hight of the home, and Randy Alan Hight (Nell) of Charlotte; sisters, Evelyn Roberts (Jack) of Durham, Betty Privette (Dale) of Butner, and Ann Currin (Allie) of Concord; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Jean Hight, and brothers, Bennett Hight and J.M. Hight.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15, 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service Franklinton Chapel.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
