HENDERSON - James Horton King, 85, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, by the Rev. Douglas Cutts at Blaylock Funeral Home in Warrenton, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Macon.

He was born in Warren County to the late Waverly King and Bessie Young King. He was a retired employee of the NCDOT and a US Army veteran, having served in WWII.

Mr. King was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura King Currin, and son, Dalton Wayne King.

Surviving: his wife, Mildred Stevenson King; his children, Victor King of New Hampshire, Dianne Paschall of Warrenton, Faydeen Vaughan and Ray King, both of Franklinton; his sister, Alma Carter of Lawrence-ville, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
