RALEIGH - Bernie Dawson died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006 in his home. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Aug. 6, at 3 p.m. in Raleigh Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.

He was born to Charles J. and Mary Kathryn Dawson in Cleveland, Ohio. He was an associate of Citgo/Star Family Stores of S. Main Street in Wake Forest and Five Points in Raleigh.

Surviving: his wife, Thelma F. Dawson; son, Bernard Dawson Jr. of Raleigh; daughter, Patricia Lebda (Kenneth) of Cary; sisters, Jean Reich and Kathy Kellums (Tom) of Cleveland, Ohio; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Nadolski.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today (Saturday, Aug. 5) at Franklin Funeral Service in Franklinton.

The family asks that donations be made in his name to Hospice of Wake County or 1st United Methodist Church of Cary.
