CLARENCE R. HALDY


RALEIGH - Clarence Richard Haldy, 93, formerly of Miami, Fla., and Livonia, Mich., died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at his home. A memorial service was conducted Friday, Sept. 18, at Grace Lutheran Church, where he was a member. Officiating over the service was the Rev. Dr. Michael W. Frye, pastor.

He was born in Detroit, Mich., to the late Louis and Mary Haldy, originally from Germany. He retired from Garment Corporation of America at age 74 while residing in Miami, Fla. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Surviving: wife, Dorothy S. Haldy; daughters, Karen A. Sheehan of Raleigh and Cindee H. (Terry) Oakes of Youngsville; brother, Edmund (Julia) Haldy of Three Rivers, Mich.; one nephew; and one granddaughter.
