He was born in Franklin County to Dock Floyd and Nannie Arnold. He retired from NC State Hospital and Holly Hill Hospital.

Surviving: his sister, Amelia “Mickie” Brown (L. L.); one niece and one nephew; one great-niece and one great-nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dock Arnold Jr., and a sister, Erdene Adams.
