HENDERSON – Charlie Marcillus Phelps, Sr., 88, died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 15, 2009. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Linwood Jarrell officiating.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Harold Phelps, and his mother, Elnora Hudson Phelps. He was a WWII veteran with the US Army Air Corps.

Surviving: his wife, Beulah Phelps of the home;  sons, Charlie M. Phelps, Jr. (Glennie) of Creedmoor, Clarence Phelps (Sis) of Henderson, and Dennis Phelps (Jackie) of Roxboro; brother, Everette Phelps (Doris) of Louisburg; sister Alice Hight of Louisburg; three grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Community Care Hospice, 1242 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC  27536.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight  (Saturday, Oct. 17) at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg, and other times at the home, 2012 Raleigh Road, Henderson.
