LOUISBURG - Funeral services for David “Woot” Alston, 47, who died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 21) at Cedar Rock Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Sylvester White Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: sons, John David Powell of Warrenton and Martinez Cordel Alston of Louisburg; parents, David Lee and Alberta Alston of the home; maternal grandmother, Ollie Strickland of Louisburg; sisters, Lenora Rogers of Durham, Elnora Henry of Ivanhoe, Phyllis Summers of Goldsboro, Deborlyn Ragland, Ethel Bryant, Carla Alston and Albertina Alston, all of Louisburg; brothers, David Stuart Rogers of Durham, David Ray Williams of Capital Heights, Md., Richard Alston of Columbus, S.C., Toney Alston of Raleigh, Rodney Alston of Nashville and Gary Lane Alston of Ellenwood, Ga.; and one grandson.
