LOUISBURG – Bonnie B. Burnette, 77, of Louisburg, passed away Wednesday afternoon, after a brief illness.

Mr. Burnette was a son of the late Bonnie Rix and Nobie Lillian Collins Burnette and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Linzy Y. Burnette, and his sister, Lucille B. Best, and his brothers, Jack Burnette, Belmont Burnette, Harold Burnette, and Pete Burnette. He retired from NC Department of Transportation and NC National Guard. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Burnette is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Alan Summerlin of Louisburg; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Cheryl Burnette of Jamestown; grandchildren, Colin and Hannah Burnette, Jodie Summerlin; sisters-in-law, Mavis Burnette, Christine Burnette, Undine B. Faucette, and Nell Rose B. Duke, all of Louisburg; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6 – 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
