LOUISBURG - Douglas Wayne “Doug/Dwayne” Wilbourne II, 43, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009. Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Rock Spring Baptist Church, Louisburg, with the Rev. James Galloway and the Rev. Melton Tyson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was born in Wake County to the late Douglas Wayne Wilbourne and Sandra Griffin Wilbourne. He graduated from Millbrook High School. In recent years he had fought a battle with heart disease and diabetes. He was a retired auto mechanic and had also worked in restaurants.

Surviving: wife, Elizabeth Hill Wilbourne; son, Evan Stewart Wilbourne; daughter, Annie Elizabeth Wilbourne; grandfather, Charlie Griffin of Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rock Spring Baptist Church, 34 Rock Spring Church Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.
