YOUNGSVILLE-William Douglas Lowery, 68, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, following a three-year battle with colon and liver cancer. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Saturday, Oct. 31) in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest, with the Rev. Graig Currin officiating. Burial will follow in the Youngsville Cemetery.

He served in the United States Air Force and worked for many years at ABB.  He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Surviving: his wife, Shirley Dean Strickland Lowery of the home; daughter, Amy Myers (Jeff) of Youngsville; sister, Elaine Ross of Wake Forest; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. 

Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to Landmark Baptist Church, 3149 Walters Road, Creedmoor, NC 27522.  

He was predeceased by a baby girl, Dilly Canden; his daddy and mama, William and Zola Gilleland Lowery; and a brother, Clifton Lowery.
