WAKE FOREST - Lucy E. Harris, 96, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 in Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at Friendship Chapel Baptist Church in Wake Forest, with Dr. R. Logan Carson officiating. Burial will follow in the Wake Forest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.

She was born in Wake County to the late Edward and Martha Forte Ray. She was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church for many years.

Surviving: daughter, Nellie R. Carter (Bernard) of Richmond, Va.; sons, James E. Harris (Margorie) of Wake Forest, Freddie L. Harris (Lovie) of Youngsville, Richard D. Harris (Mary) of Raleigh, and Samuel L. Harris (Jacqueline) of Raleigh; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild.
