RALEIGH - Ruth A. Gilbert, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at her home. The family received friends at the home on Friday, Jan. 29.

She was born to the late William H. and Ana Peterson Hartmann in Baltimore, Md. She served her country during WWII as an Army nurse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren I. Gilbert.

Surviving: son, Loren W. Gilbert of Youngsville; brother, William H. Hartmann of Redding, Calif.
