LOUISBURG – Joseph Robert May, 61, of Louisburg, died Friday night.  Joe was a son of the late Robert W. and Florence Pearce May and was preceded in death by his brothers, Douglas Parrish and Edward Parrish. He was a retired truck driver with Overnite Transportation.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Betty M. May; sons, Robert E. “Robbie” May and wife Melissa, Lance May and fiancé Candice Grubbs, all of Louisburg; brother, Raymond W. May and wife Pam of Franklinton; sisters, Christine Kreitzer of Youngsville, Elizabeth Gupton and husband Douglas of Louisburg; grandchildren, Tabitha May, Austin May, Rebecca May and Hayleigh Grubbs.

The family received friends 7 – 9 p.m. Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
