ZEBULON - Maryland Ray Carlyle, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010. Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Social Plains Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.

A native of Franklin County, he was son to the late Rufus Maryland and Crettie Riley Carlyle. He was retired from the NC D.O.T.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Curtis and Robert; sister, Blanche Freeman; and one grandson.

Surviving: wife, Barbara Hagwood Carlyle; daughters, Charlene C. Cooke (Billy) of Wendell, Gail Denton (Charles) of Zebulon, Vickie C. Hodge (Terry) of Middlesex, Donna C. Driver (Steve) of Zebulon, Sherry C. Denton (Russell) of Zebulon; brothers, Earl Carlyle and Clinton Carlyle, both of Zebulon; sisters, Eunice of Zebulon, Pearl and Faye, both of Raleigh; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
