DURHAM - Lonnie James Murray, 87, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2006. A graveside service was conducted Monday, Aug. 28, at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton, with Pastor Joe Leonard officiating.

He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Rosa Joyner Murray and George Spencer Murray. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mitchell Murray.

Surviving: his brother-in-law, Robert L. Mitchell (Betty) of Durham; several nieces and nephews.
