LOUISBURG - Amos “Sonny” Ellis died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006 at his home after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, from the chapel of Lancaster Funerals and Cremations in Louisburg, with the Rev. Lacy Frye officiating. Entombment will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

He was the son of the late Willie Eugene “Bo” and Margaret Lynch Ellis of Norlina.

Surviving: wife, Gerline Ellis; brother, Milton Hunter Ellis Sr. of Chase City, Va.; stepson, Terry Mitchell (Paula) of Louisburg; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funerals and Cremations.
